- Separating Glass Stuck to Metal Molds - I’m going to describe a method, born of desperation, which can separate metal from glass without risk to the glass. Neat trick, yes? It’s called electrolysis. No, not like you thin down those bushy eyebrows, more like how the chrome is put on your bumper...

- Phase Separation Good or Bad?: We are all familiar with the old adage that "oil and water don't mix". Most of us have made a salad dressing by mixing olive oil and water and watched as two distinct layers are formed with a meniscus or curved layer separating the two. Because very little mixing occurs between the two layers they are said to be "immiscible" or unmixable. What does this have to do with glass you ask? .........

- Southern California Artists Greet Italian Maestro with Enthusiasm: - He fused the ends of the ribbon canes to one another without fusing the tubing. He worked the tubing out of the bundle as he progressed so that none of the pyrex tubing is in the finished vase. - An Interview with Lucio Bubacco Conducted at his studio in Murano by Marcie Davis - I make many, many, many experiments before I make complex work. At the beginning, I made everything separate, simple, abstract, building very complex mythology, But with separate components. I think I attached them together, like an architect, with the figures, in 1988. After that, I make big art, like evolution, like big fantasy, in galleries, in Germany, France, etc....
- Boro Fusing Project Update by Henry Grimmett - To make larger pieces, faster many of the techniques of furnace work are being integrated into flameworking. It is no longer unusual to see a 2-lb coffee can glory hole on a bench next to a torch or the use of 40gr “color pots”. Another technique being explored by many lampworkers utilizes an old tool, the kiln. Using many of the soda-lime glass techniques associated with fusing, today’s lampworker is reducing working time, producing end product heretofore not possible and redefining the limits of flame worked art....

- Relieving Stress! - by Henry Grimmett - Stress is everywhere; in our lives, in our glass; it just doesn't seem right. The good news is that stress in glass can be understood and controlled. To bad we can not do the same for the stress in our lives. Maybe by the end of this article the stress that has come from watching our pieces blowup, sometimes after sitting on the shelf for 2 years, can be reduced. There have been some excellent materials written for the artist over the last 3 years on annealing. In this article I examine some of the common question such as "why does my piece break after 6 months?" ...
